Carl Marks Merchant Partners seeks to invest in mature, middle-market companies with an enterprise value in the $10 million to $50 million range. The typical equity investment in each transaction will range from $2 million to $10 million. Through creative structuring, the terms of an investment can be tailored to meet the needs of a particular situation. Additionally, the group has the ability to increase the investment size per transaction through co-investment arrangements with institutional partners.
The collective experience of its partners and principals allows Carl Marks Merchant Partners to invest in businesses across a wide range of industries. In general, the group seeks mature companies operating in stable industries where the addition of capital and management advice has the potential to improve the fundamental performance of the company.
