Carl Marks Advisory Group Opens Tysons Corner, Virginia Office

October 1, 2009 (New York) – Carl Marks Advisory Group LLC (CMAG), the corporate revitalization and investment banking firm headquartered in New York, has opened a mid-Atlantic office in Tysons Corner, Va., as part of its overall plan to expand the firm’s regional footprint. Currently, CMAG also has regional offices in Bedminster, N.J., and Charlotte, N.C.
The new Virginia office’s focus is on growing the financial restructuring and healthy and distressed mergers and acquisitions practices for CMAG. Its presence within the Washington, D.C., market also helps to support the firm’s long-term strategy to expand its business in the government defense sector.

Reardon, the CMAG partner who recently joined the firm to oversee the new Virginia office. In addition to Reardon, John Rakowski has joined CMAG’s Virginia office as vice president. Rakowski is primarily responsible for the delivery of CMAG’s financial advisory services, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, private placements and restructurings.
